Anti smoking Campaign

Anti-smoking campaign (Abstract approach)

“To me, a story can be both concrete and abstract, or concrete story can hold abstractions. And abstractions are things that really can’t be said so well with words” (David lynch, 2013)

This project focuses on an anti-smoking campaign. The final animations are created to show the journey of smoking one cigarette and how it damages the body.

I have approached this in a more abstract way, using a range of diverse filming techniques including time-lapse, stop motion and macro filming. Photography was used to create storyboards and identify what visuals should be applied in the finals artifact.

There are three videos showing the gradual process of smoking, each video explores the story in a darker mood. Sound was implemented to help cerate an atmosphere when looking at the subliminal messages.

The message is to show the damage one cigarette can do to the human body/brain. The irony behind the videos is they are one minute long and that’s how long the hit from nicotine lasts for.
